Audrey Fleurot is the new Mercédès in the series The Countess of Monte Cristo, whose first official photos are finally here.
Having already produced numerous programs together, such as the series The Fighters, the reality show The Agency and the film All the Blue of the Sky, Netflix and TF1 have taken a new step on June 19, 2026. Indeed, a portion of TF1+’s content is now available directly via Netflix’s catalog, in addition to access to the live broadcast of the television channel. And on the occasion of this pseudo-merger, TF1 took the opportunity to tease its upcoming projects, including its series: The Countess of Monte Cristo.
This new adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’s books was announced in 2024, the same year as the mega-hit The Count of Monte Cristo. This time, it’s no longer Edmond Dantès’s adventures, but those of his fiancée, Mercédès Herrera, played by Audrey Fleurot (HPI), who will be at the center of this original creation directed by Djibril Glissant and Leonardo D’Antoni. While the actress and producer of the series had already shared a set photo in May, TF1 revealed the first official images of The Countess of Monte Cristo.
The Countess of Monte Cristo Remains Mysterious
These images showcase a large portion of the cast, including Kad Merad, Esteban Vial (the young cowboy in the series Lucky Luke), Marysole Fertard (BigBug, Chien de la casse), Maxime Lélue (Demain nous appartient), Zabou Breitman and Simon Ehrlacher (Cat’s Eyes, Plus belle la vie). However, Audrey Fleurot is notably absent, with only a first mini-poster barely revealing her face. What will she look like exactly? A mystery. It’s quite possible that, in addition to inheriting the Monte Cristo name, she may have also acquired its expertise in disguises.
C’est du moins ce que laisse penser le synopsis de la série, puisque Mercédès Herrera will be in turn driven by vengeance after the death of her former friend and lover Edmond Dantès. Dantès was killed during his escape attempt from the famous Château d’If after he had been unjustly imprisoned while she tried to save him. Also imprisoned, she emerges ready to exact revenge on the people involved in the affair: Fernand, her own cousin, the highly ambitious Danglars, and Héloïse de Villefort, the prosecutor’s wife.
These early images could spark new theories while we wait to discover who will play the trio of villains in their handsome period costumes. Additionally, The Countess of Monte Cristo will likely deliver plenty of surprises across its eight episodes, each lasting about 50 minutes. How far will Alexandre Dumas’s novel rewrite carry Mercédès Herrera? To find out, we’ll have to remain patient since no air date has been announced yet. Still, an arrival on TF1 (and Netflix) is expected this summer.
